THE POC MACHINE

THE POC MACHINE is FoolFarm’s co-creation platform and lab where large companies, innovative companies and young talent collaborate to develop impactful solutions.

It is a space designed to foster a culture of open innovation and think about innovation strategically.

Born in the Foolfarm ecosystem, THE POC MACHINE is the place where we discuss emerging trends, particularly artificial intelligence, to solve common needs, following FoolFarm’s proven venture building method, BeFool.

All supported by an open digital platform, year-round events, and an experienced Open Innovation team.

HOW THE POC MACHINE WORKS

PHASE 1: EXPLORING

We collect companies' innovation needs on the platform to define the research scenario

At this stage, The Poc Machine team organizes internal workshops with the company to gather innovation needs in a structured way, with a focus on artificial intelligence and business transformation.

During the meetings, existing processes and major challenges are analyzed, identifying areas that could benefit most from AI.

Upon completion, a document is drafted that summarizes the business needs that have emerged, becoming the basis for the research and development phase and the creation of the Proof of Concept (PoC), ensuring that the solutions are aligned with business objectives.

STEP 2: Scouting

We select the best innovative companies that can meet the needs of corporations.

At this stage we select the best innovative companies that can meet the needs of corporations.

With the help of a panel of experts and a technical team, we evaluate innovative startups, both from the FoolFarm network and international, and their solutions.

We conduct RFIs and select the most suitable startups. Startups are presented through a Demo Day to the ‘company for its evaluation.

If there are no suitable startups, The Poc Machine proposes a series of business concepts to be developed as prototypes to meet business needs.

STEP 3 co-create

Cocreation projects aimed at developing POCs together with realities start

With the expert guidance of The Poc Machine team, companies and startups will work side by side to develop concrete solutions.

The goal is to create a Proof of Concept that not only meets the specific needs of the company, but also offers tangible value for its digital transformation, with a focus on the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence and technological innovation.

At the end of the 12 weeks, corporations will have the opportunity to actually test the PoC and evaluate its applicability for future large-scale implementation.

THE INNOVATION MACHINE

The INNOVATION MACHINE is an Open Innovation service from FoolFarm designed for companies that need to innovate and experiment with new solutions.

It is a co-creation space dedicated to open innovation, where we think strategically to create prototypes based on the company’s business needs.

These prototypes can be tested, adopted and integrated into the company’s product or service portfolio, or used to experiment with new business models, all with the agility and speed of startups.

Created within FoolFarm as a venture builder, The INNOVATION MACHINE leverages BeFool’s proven method for inventing new prototypes or copycats of startups, responding to companies’ innovation needs, with a focus on artificial intelligence and emerging trends

HOW THE INNOVATION MACHINE WORKS

PHASE 1: harvest time

At this stage, the team organizes internal workshops with the company to gather innovation needs in a structured way, with a specific focus on artificial intelligence and business transformation.

During these meetings, existing processes and major challenges are analyzed, identifying areas that could benefit most from AI.

At the end of this phase, a document summarizing the business needs that have emerged is drafted, which becomes the basis for the subsequent Proof of Concept (PoC) ideation and creation phase, ensuring that the solutions are fully aligned with the company’s strategic goals.

STEP 2: ideation time

We entrust our in-house team of inventors and venture builders to develop new concepts

In the Ideation phase, the team encourages its creative and venture builders to develop innovative proofs of concept to meet corporate needs.

With the support of a technical team, innovative ideas and, if necessary, possible copycats are evaluated.

POC proposals are presented through demos and pitches during a dedicated Demo Day as if they were startups.

The company has the opportunity to evaluate solutions and select those best suited to its innovation goals.

We present demos of new concepts to the company as a demo day to evaluate POC

At the end of Demo Day, the company’s favorite ideas and proofs of concept are selected.

Next, a 120-day plan is defined in which FoolFarm and company teams collaborate to co-create the proof of concept and MVP of the solution, with the goal of conducting an initial internal test.

At the end of this phase, a workshop is held to share the results and decide on next steps.

Options include developing the solution as a standalone project or creating a dedicated startup, which will continue the development of the project. In the latter case, the funding company will obtain the rights to take over the startup at a price already agreed upon between the parties.

THE INNOVATION Train

THE INNOVATION TRA IN is a Corporate Open Innovation service by FoolFarm for companies that want to innovate and experiment with new solutions in two days, aboard a high-speed train.

This co-creation space allows for the development of strategic prototypes outside the traditional corporate context. The program, led by FoolFarm’s venture builders, takes place over two days: you leave from Milan with a dedicated company compartment. During the journey, ideas are refined thanks to the atmosphere of the train, which stimulates creativity.

Once in Rome (or other destination), work continues on concepts, fostering networking. On the second day, the team returns to Milan to finalize the designs and present the results at a Demo Day, with final evaluation by a panel of experts.
